Your car requires routine maintenance throughout the year, but the summer months are especially important, because that’s when most of us do our traveling. Are you planning to go on a summer road trip? If so, here are four things you should check on your car before you leave.
Your tires should have a decent amount of tread, and no areas where bulges or bald spots are evident. Look for any debris in the wheels that could cause problems. To get the best performance and gas mileage, make sure your tires are properly inflated.
Your brakes play a huge part in your safety. Don’t neglect them before heading out for your trip. Make sure the brake pads are still in good shape, and check your brake fluid.
Speaking of fluid, open up the hood of your car and check all of the fluid levels. You will want to check your oil level as well. Don’t forget about your coolant and windshield wiper fluid.
The Air Conditioning
If you’re traveling to a warmer climate, air conditioning is something you don’t want to be without. Make sure your A/C is blowing cold air. Check your coolant level, and make sure you have a fresh air filter installed.
We’ll be happy to give your car an inspection before you go on vacation. Just call us up, and we’ll get you safely on your way!
